I am the guy in the Blue’s blazer receiving the Trophy from Jimmy Ferguson, SGU President. Holding it with me is the English Captain Paul Baxter, recently Secretary to EGU. For years at Woodall Spa now on Open platform as R&A Committee chairman. Between Jimmy Ferguson and the EGU President is Clive Clark and in the raincoat Frank Pennink, Walker Cup winning team 1938 and golf writer/architect.

Damshot Cottages

The Damshot cottages which stood well back from the Barrhead Rd were accessed by a narrow lane. The cottages were originally built to house workers of the adjoining Pollok Estate.

Club Championship 1946
J.R. (Tommy) Taylor seen driving at the 18th in the 1946 final against Tommy Craig.
The metaled road which can be seen in the background ran beside the 17th and was an integral part of the course until about the late 1990s.
17th Hole
The trees which are on the left of the current 17th are absent in this painting but presumably the fence marked the out of bounds, making the 17th a bit tighter than it is now.

Broompark Farm, Barrhead Rd (also known as Smith’s Farm)
The derelict farmhouse beside the 2nd tee on Cowglen is a sad sight.
A number of Glasgow history websites have content, some of which is in the following composite document. There was mention of it being a social club about 1980.
