Two years before this card, J.H.Irons who won the Championship four times was back to scratch, having been +5 and Andrew Jamieson, who was just 18, was also scratch, having come down very quickly from 4. In Jamieson’s case this was two years before his great years of 1926/7 (See posts under “Andrew Jamieson”)
